ICT Ethics - Emergent
This Key Area is concerned with the appropriate, ethical and effective use of ICT in learning and teaching. At the emergent level there is practical adherence in the classroom on a day to day basis.
To help you reach your e-potential......why not...
- Consistently reinforce yours and the school’s expectations of your students when they use ICT and discuss issues of:
- copyright,
- cyber bullying,
- cyber safety,
- being a great e-citizen,
- plagiarism,
- intellectual property,
- privacy, and
- what they can do if they ever feel threatened or uncomfortable. You might like to lead them to the NetAlert website or explore the NetAlert CyberQuoll and CyberNetrix resources to help you. This will also assist your students to efficiently learn components of the VELS ICT domain, ICT for creation dimension. Support students to understand their social and ethical responsibilities when using ICT.
- Maintain a stimulating and exciting classroom which is managed so that all students have equal access, including students with special needs, and are respectful of the resources available to them.
