ICT Ethics - Innovative

This Key Area is concerned with the appropriate, ethical  and effective use of ICT in learning and teaching.

At the innovative level, there are a number of tools and an embedded practice which ensures safe and practical use of ICT in all possible scenarios.

To help you reach your ePotential…….why not...

  • Consider a range of classroom management techniques which allow the students to develop a feeling of comfort and safety, as well as developing autonomy. Introduce a Student Mentor approach to allow student peers to oversee how software is used, how hardware is treated etc.  Students can support you in maintaining a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Remain constantly aware of your whole school’s practices, policies and values in using ICT and contribute new ideas and insights.
  • Maintain a stimulating and exciting classroom which is managed so that all students have equal access, including students with special needs, and are respectful of the resources available to them.
  • Ensure that your school’s Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy are understood, adhered to and on display for your students.
  • Information on CyberSafety and learning with the internet is available from Working with the Web. The site includes information and resources related to privacy, copyright and cyberbullying.
  • Design, plan for and introduce classroom activities which always incorporate stimulating, purposeful and focused use of ICT.
