Learning & Teaching - Emergent

The Learning & Teaching Key Area refers to the ability to integrate ICT into your learning and teaching - Powerful learning enabled by ICT.

This Key Area has particular reference to the Interdisciplinary Strand ICT within VELS.

At the emergent level you are beginning to integrate ICT to the point that it assists students in developing understandings, ideas and interpretations.

To help you reach your ePotential…….why not…
  • Try planning a lesson that incorporates ICT, focuses on thinking skills and identifying links and relationships. Try using a graphic organiser such as a concept map, cause and effect pattern or flow chart to assist your students in visualising their thinking, clarifying their thoughts and identifying relationships.

  • Involve your students in solving a problem using ICT or creating an information product, or using ICT for communicating, investigating and building knowledge. You could use data processing and logging software or Internet-based projects such as WebQuests and research tasks.

  • Review the Digital Learning Resources developed by the Le@rning Federation.  Access them through digiLearn.
